Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS)
Government grant covering up to 75% of the cost of purchasing and installing EV chargepoints at your workplace. From April 2026, the grant rate increased to £500 per socket, up to a maximum of 40 sockets per business.

Step-by-Step Application Process
Get quotes from OZEV-approved WCS installers
Installer submits WCS application on your behalf
OZEV reviews and approves the application
Installer completes the chargepoint installation
Installer claims the grant post-installation
You pay the reduced amount (cost minus grant)
Key Conditions & Gotchas
- !Must use an accredited WCS installer — non-approved installers void the grant
- !Grant rate is £500/socket from April 2026 (was £350 before)
- !Maximum of 40 sockets per applicant
- !Cannot be stacked with other government EV charging grants at the same location
Grant Stacking
Cannot be combined with other government EV charging grants. Can be combined with Full Expensing capital allowance.
